The Character Design Exercise

The Idea, suggested by Stephen, was to get each member to design their own version of each of our story's characters (Kid, Good Fairy, Bad Fairy), and then pass the page onto the next person. The next person would then design the character again, based off the original drawing, and then pass it on, so the next person would have 2 drawings to pull ideas from, and so on and so forth.
With this method, we ended up with 243+ designs in about 3 hours (about 5 min. per sketch).

The following is the remains of that exercise, as we combed through the designs and picked out the best ones to develop further. Perhaps you will see those later. Also, I've reinserted Andre's designs - his cleanup is in the previous post.

The characters are shown in the order that we did them, and I think we were all getting worn out by the end of the Bad Fairy, haha.

I've tried to keep the sets together so you can see each member's influence. Studio 10: Please comment and leave any corrections or note which pages you started.

I started Kid #3, Good Fairy #3, and Bad Fairy #3. Funny how that worked out.

I love it...I think you guys are doing an amazing job. There is a great sense of design, and I can't wait to see the film. Paintings look good, and I think everythings slowly coming along! Keep up the good work!
